Food and Drink » Seaweed
High in calcium and magnesium, seaweed is a natural food that is grown right on our doorstep! It contains many vitamins and minerals that our body needs from day to day and is fast becoming a recognised healthy addition to our daily diet. Here we feature seaweeds from Clearspring and also from Algaran, who harvest their crops from the clear waters of the Atlantic ocean around Donegal Bay.

* Well known in the Irish tradition as a "salty" snack. Very common in the old times
* High in Vitamin B12 and Iron - highly recommended in vegan and vegetarian diets, where the lack of these elements are one of major problems
* All red seaweed contain Beta Carotenes - very useful to prevent viral attacks
* Not always accepted for its peculiar taste; is very useful to enhance flavour in fish recipes.
