Steer clear of irritants
Flare-ups may occur from too much sun exposure, stress, exercise, spicy food, or alcohol, or from extreme (hot or cold) weather or bathing-water temperatures
Ask about prescription azelaic acid cream (Azelex) for a more natural topical therapy, as well as the oral anti-biotic tetracycline (Sumycin) and topical anti-biotics such as metronidazole (MetroGel); all reduce inflammation
