Our acai is freeze dried within 24 hours of being harvested to preserve the maximum amount of free radical fighting antioxidants, as these unstable compounds can begin to degrade immediately and are responsible for the majority of acai’s health benefits.
Acai is renowned for its antioxidant properties. Antioxidant levels in fresh acai are 70 TE/100g (trolox equivalent, the measurement of a substance’s antioxidant capacity compared to Trolox, an antioxidant derivative of vitamin E) which is the highest of any fruit, twice the antioxidant level of blueberries and ten times that of grapes. By freeze drying the pulp, up to 80% of the vitamins and minerals present in the fresh pulp can be preserved and safely stored at room temperature for up to 18 months.

Acai powder can be consumed in a number of ways, and can be added to anything. I add a heaped dessert spoon to my daily fruit breakfast.
